Practicing primarily as a solicitor servicing the business community, Matthew graduated in 2008 with his J.D. from the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law, where he concentrated largely on corporate, commercial and international matters.
As an effective advocate, Matthew’s clients rely on him for his breadth and depth of knowledge across a wide range of legal areas, as well as for his practical solutions to strategic business, dispute resolution and risk management issues.
Matthew has an extensive industry background, from working with entrepreneurs and startups to multinational corporations and, before entering the world of law, in the technology industry with the world’s largest IT distribution company. Prior to joining the team at SHK, Matthew also served as a Review Officer at WorkSafeBC, where he acted as sole arbitrator and decision-maker on hundreds of compensation claims appeals.
While much of his time is now spent with clients focused on mergers and acquisitions, commercial real estate, buying and selling businesses and financing, Matthew looks forward to providing you with superior guidance in all major areas of business law, as well as in your succession and trust planning needs.
