A principal of SHK, Mark Braidwood is a litigation lawyer with expertise in the areas of construction, commercial and insurance law. Mark has conducted many trials and appeals, and has acted as counsel in arbitrations and administrative hearings.
Mark provides legal counsel to a variety of professionals, including engineers, architects, biologists, financial advisors, insurance agents, home inspectors, private nurses and others. As a construction lawyer, Mark’s practice includes representing all parties involved in construction litigation – both small and large – at times taking him to other jurisdictions in Canada and beyond.
As a commercial litigation lawyer, Mark has litigated contract and business disputes, including injunctions, product liability, leases, sale of goods, estates, shareholder disputes and related issues. In Mark’s insurance law practice he acts for both insurers and insureds, defending claims, prosecuting subrogated claims, and defending coverage claims in construction and commercial disputes.
Mark is active in the legal profession by writing articles for publications including the Advocate and acting as a Moot Court judge at the University of British Columbia. He regularly provides pro bono legal services for Access Justice.
